Developed by Carnegie Wave Energy Limited, the project uses CETO 5 wave energy generators to make this happen. As of now, the CETO 5 is being used to provide energy to a nearby naval base, but there are plans to expand to other locations. 3 CETO 5 units channeling energy from the ocean are plugged into a power grid to generate around 14,000 hours of energy, in total. The water pumps convert the ocean waves into high-powered water which then creates hydroelectricity to power a reverse-osmosis desalination plant.
