New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken elaborately for the first time on the recent mob violence against a Muslim man in Dadri, Shiv Sena attacking Sudheendra Kulkarni and not allowing Pakistani Ghazal maestro Ghulam Ali’s concert in Mumbai. In an exclusive interview to our Bengali newspaper Anandabazar Patrika, Modi said the two incidents were unfortunate. He said the Centre, which has no role in it, has always opposed such kind of violence. "Incidents like Dadri and Ghulam Ali are really sad but what is the role of the Centre in these incidents?" PM Modi said. The prime minister further said there are allegations on BJP of being communal but it is the Opposition parties that are polarizing masses for their benefit. "The BJP has always opposed pseudo secularism. Opposition regularly alleges BJP of igniting communal flare but isn’t the opposition doing polarization now?" he asked. Modi said solution to such issues is only through dialogue. "BJP has always been against pseudo-secularism. These distressing incidents have again led to the rise of those debates and dialogue is the only process through which a solution is possible," Modi added. Earlier this month, the family of Mohammed Akhlaque, who was lynched after rumours that he had eaten beef in a state where cow slaughter is banned.
