Mumbaikars woke up to a blanket of smoke-filled fog on Thursday morning, with smog hugging the city's skyline. Not surprisingly, there were free-wheeling comparisons with Delhi and Beijing. Officials from the Indian Meteorological Department confirmed the presence of thick smog over South Central region of the city but refused further comment. A spokesperson for the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) that said that there was heavy smog over the eastern and central suburbs of Mumbai, especially around the Chembur and Deonar areas, reported DNA We took to Twitter to help to us through the smog gripping the city. And most people didn't have the foggiest idea about what was going on!
