Sachin Tendulkar To Build Irrigation Facilities In Drought-Hit Marathwada Region Of Maharashtra

India's batting icon Sachin Tendulkar has never backed down from a good cause and he has now decided to do his bit for the farmers of Marathwada in Maharashtra. The 42-year-old is aiming to help create irrigation facilities and improve the area's water and power supply. He hopes to construct new roads as well.

Tendulkar's personal assistant recently toured the region and collected all the information available. He said that the batting maestro would prefer to work on his own and not with any political influence.

The legend, also a member of parliament in the Rajya Sabha, quit international cricket in 2013. He currently holds the record for most runs in Tests and ODIs along with a century of centuries at the international level.
