What is the one word that helps you sum up India? Well, if you ask us, the one word would be “colorful”. Yes; from the people to the houses to the décor and even the streets—vibrant and colorful are the two terms that can be aptly used to describe India. And, do you know where you can visualize this variation of hues? It’s the streets, of course. And, this list is all about the streets of India—sometimes painted in vivid hues, sometimes in quirky hues while the rest of the times in shady and dark hues. So, here we go—

And, we are so not talking about the hip and happening malls out here. The traditional bazaars—be it a fish market or a vegetable market or a clothing market a la desi style—bazaars are one of the most endearing features of India, or so is termed by the travelers.

A bazaar, like the Dilli Haat, Sarojini Market, Colaba Causeway, Lucknow’s Aminabad or New Market, is a place where cultures meet and are exchanged, different people from myriad backgrounds can be found. These dimly lit, cacophonous areas are simply one of our favorites. Well, yet again we choose to keep mum about the associated slangs exchanged and the innumerable pockets picked!
