14 Army Men Biking Across India To Meet Families Of Martyrs + 5 Other Stories From Sunday


Steering through the plains of Uttar Pradesh to the sand dunes of the desert in Rajasthan, a team of 14 army men is on motorcycle expedition to meet with families of martyrs and ex-service men and help them with their problems pertaining to pension trouble and others. The motorcycle expedition team comprising three officers, two junior commissioned officers and nine jawans will cover a total of 1700 kms while traversing through one district of Uttar Pradesh, twelve districts of Rajasthan and will finally culminate at Mathura on September 9, 2016. The expedition is being undertaken by Red Eagle Division under the aegis of Strike 1. The expedition was flagged off by Lieutenant General Shokin Chauhan, General Officer Commanding Strike 1 on Saturday at Mathura.

Even as Pakistan has begun to internationalize its Kashmir campaign, the country was hugely embarrassed after dozens of exiled Baloch activists in Germany came out on Saturday to chant anti-Pakistan protests and to laud Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his stirring call to end atrocities in the beleaguered province.

Many of the Baloch activists were flying the Indian flag and shouting pro-Modi slogans at a rally they held in the town of Leipzig, Times Now reported. This protest came even as Nawaz Sharif announced that he has appointed a 22 MP 'K' squad to tour the world with a Kashmir agenda.

"We respect PM Modi, are thankful to him. Unlike Pakistan he treats us with humanity," one protester Hooran Baloch said.
