Girl Marries Her Fiance While Lying In An Ambulance Unable To Get Up For Love

A dream wedding became a distant pleasure for Netravathi but the girl certainly married for love. In an ambulance. Wearing a night dress. Netravathi, who is a final year nursing student, decided to get married to her fiance, Guruswamy, on the scheduled date, irrespective of all the shortcomings. The girl had injured her spinal cord in an accident while picnicking, after which she was put on complete bed rest to hope for a complete recovery. After her accident in Chitradurga on May 23, Netravathi was sent to Nimhans in Bengaluru for treatment. After a week, she decided to return to get married to Guruswamy. She was brought back to a Chitradurga government hospital with strict advice for bed rest. And with a determined mind, Netravathi reached her destination to marry her fiance - in an ambulance.

The pundit, Murugharajendra Swami of Chitradurga Murugharajendra Brihanmath, performed her wedding rituals on June 5 at the Chitradurga mutt - on the auspicious occasion of Amavasya where he married 23 couples in a mass ceremony.

Netravathi, who hails from an agricultural household in a Chitradurga district, fell in love with Guruswamy - a windmill technician - who also comes from a farming family in Challakere town. The two had decided to tie the knot in the mass wedding.

Thankfully belonging to the same caste, the duo faced no family objections. However, post her accident, Guruswamy's family did raise some concerns. But the doctors have assured that, with the right medicines and physiotherapy, Netravathi will be up and about in due time.

And with the support of a husband who loves her and had no qualms about the way they got married, Netravathi sure is a lucky girl.
