He Tried To Kill Bjork And Left Behind An Intensely Disturbing Video Diary

If you're of a certain age, you're definitely familiar with the Icelandic singer and musician Bjork. However, what you might not be aware of was her creepy and deeply disturbed stalker from the 1990s, Ricardo López. In 1996, the young man attempted to kill the singer using a letter bomb. He had become obsessed with her and angry at her relationship with English musician and DJ Clifford Joseph Price, better known by his stage name Goldie. Over a nine-month period, López recorded his frustrations, ranting in a video diary as he worked on the bomb. After he finally mailed it to Bjork's London residence, he committed suicide. Luckily, police found his body along with a suicide note detailing his plot before the letter was delivered. They alerted Scotland Yard who intercepted it without incident. Even though his plan didn't succeed, that only makes his video diaries creepier, as you can see in the excerpt below. I really do feel for this guy. Clearly, he had an array of mental health issues that were not being addressed. It's a shame that things worked out the way that they did for him. Thankfully though, no one else was hurt.
