The members of the Central Board of Film Certification are messengers of God. They're the good people dedicated to the upholding of the Sanskaar-quotient in the Indian society. Holy cranes dropped them on the face of the Earth. What birds and bees? Anything even remotely associated with sex, drugs or basic freedom of speech is a threat to their very being.
It's no surprise that Angry Indian Goddesses, an unapologetic portrayal of the feisty modern Indian woman, who flips the bird to the 'damsel in distress' image, managed to offend the CBFC's sensibilities.
Because how can smoking, drinking, swearing, short-skirt donning, opinionated young women be associated with the original angry Indian goddess, Maa Kaali? What utter blasphemy!
However, as promised, Angry Indian Goddesses have made available on their facebook page, all the uncensored scenes, replete with all the dangerously offensive/uncouth terms that were bleeped out in the theatres.
