MP Salesman Who Just Earns Rs 1200 A Month Has Property Worth Crores


In what could be a case of corruption, a salesman drawing a mere salary of Rs.1200, was found with possessions worth crores of rupees in Madhya Pradesh. Suresh Prasad Pandey, a salesman working with public distribution shop (PDS) in Sidhi district of MP since 1996, owned assets worth more than 200 times his salary, reports The Times of India. A Lokayukta police official revealed that the raid was conducted after a getting receiving multiple complaints of "disproportionate assets". After raiding his house on Tuesday, the officials found properties and gold ornaments worth crores, including a double-barrel gun and four vehicles - a Bolero, an Alto, Activa bike and a Honda Shine motorcycle. Further investigations revealed that Suresh owned three houses in Gendahwa, Bhawraha and Uttar Karaundiya and had also purchased 4 agricultural lands in different parts of Sidhi, reports Hindustan Times. The raids also led officials to Pandey's 8 banks accounts held by him, his wife and son. The exact worth of assets owned by Suresh will be known after the details of his banks accounts are revealed. The salesman will be charged under Prevention of Corruption Act 1988, for possessing assets that have no proportion with his income level.
