My girlfriend and I are Mothmeister. We create Wounderland – a weird and wonderful universe. We portray anonymous, ugly masked creatures as a reaction against the dominant exhibitionism of the selfie culture and beauty standards marketed by the mass media. We are passionate taxidermy collectors. That’s why our lonesome characters are, most of the time, accompanied by mounted animals. We reincarnate these dead critters into fairy tale figures by dressing them up like the Victorian taxidermist Walter Potter did. Our surreal inspiration comes from our own imagination, dreams and nightmares.
