This kind of Army Of Volunteers {Washes|Clears|Wipes} Up Places For {Free of charge|No cost} Every Big Event In Their Cities

We all look forward to attending astonishing events around in our cities. But while a lot of emphasis is laid on making such events look grand and spectacular, not everyone thinks about the after effects of in terms of waste generation. To make up for this common loophole in planning, a group of passionate youngsters called The "Green Nest" (TGN), have made it a mission to clean up at public places in Chennai and Hyderabad, in the wake of where major events held there. And the group does all this free of cost.

What lies next?

"We have now started the concept of 'Happy Bins' in which garbage bins will be put up at every 100 metre in Banjara Hills and Jubillee Hills, two of the most prominent areas of Hyderabad. A few business houses have been approached who have agreed to provide assistance in the same as we will provide them with an opportunity to advertise on those bins," says Raghavendra Ram Shetty, the HR Director who is an MBA student studying in Hyderabad. The organisation also plans to extend its operations in Bengaluru, Vellore and Pune.

"Being a cleanliness freak, I used to always get in a fight with people who used to litter around me. I got to know about TGN in January through a friend and I at once decided to join it," says Rachna, a volunteer who is a practising doctor by profession. "Awareness campaigns are fine but are not at all sufficient. We actually have to do ground level work to bring change, " she adds while proudly mentioning how she inspired some of her friends into joining it.
