Diwali – The name itself casts a magic spell and makes our eyes sparkle. Color, illuminated everywhere, gifts, fire crackers, colorful foods and lots and lots of fun and mirth define this festival. And, boy! How we Indians love to take pride in our culture on this day! But, if you thought that Diwali is the only festival of light in the whole wide world, then you would be mistaking a bit. Yes, we admit that it is the grandest of them all, but there are quite many festivals of light held around the world which are indeed very cool and pleasant. Let’s take a look at some of those—

6. Las Fellas

Like other festivals in Spain, this festival too is very unique and showcases yet another fun filled part of Spain’s culture. It is a fire festival that commemorates a feast day given in honor of St. Joseph, the patron saint of the carpenters.

The festival marks the end of the evil, known as ninots and made of card board and wood, by ravishing them in fire. Well, that sounds much like our own Dusshera, ain’t it?
