The Indian Army recovered the newly-introduced Rs 2,000 notes from the two militants who were killed in an encounter with security forces in north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Monday. The recovery comes as a concern for security agencies as these new notes were introduced for circulation only a fortnight ago.

Further details of the operation were awaited, the official said. Two weapons have been recovered from the encounter site. "Two weapons have been recovered along with other war-like stores," the official said. He said the identity and group affiliation of the militants was being ascertained.
