A little bit of history remains half buried under the modern world in London. Little Compton Street was paved over to make way for the streets of the next generation but under Charing Cross Road in London, there lies the remains of a long lost road. Back in the day the streets were much lower and were just layered over for newer roads.

Super-Kamiokande: Hida, Japan

The Super-Kamiokande is a neutrino detector, located 3000 ft under Mount Kamiokako in Hida, Japan. It was built for the sole purpose of detecting neutrinos, which are the among the most mysterious particles in existence. The Super-Kamiokande is an impressive structure, built to hold 50,000 tons of water. It is also covered in the glow of 11,146 photo-multiplier tubes which light up the place turning it into one of the most stunning places on Earth.
