Virat Kohli And Sania Mirza Among 4 Indian Athletes To Make It To Forbes Under-30 List Of Game Changers In Asia


Indian cricket's run machine Virat Kohli, tennis star Sania Mirza, ace badminton player Saina Nehwal and mountaineer Arunimha Sinha are the Indian athletes who've been included in the Forbes' '30 Under-30 Asia' list of young achievers and game changers in the region. Along with other young and talented Indians from other spheres as well, there are 56 Indians under 30 years of age who're making an impact in Asia, according the magazine's latest list. it includes 300 "young and driven entrepreneurs and game-changers" from countries including India, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam and Australia who are contributing to their industries in a significant way.



At No 14th spot is Saina, the first Indian badminton player to win an Olympic medal, is a top-ranked shuttler. After weeks of being at No 1 rankings, she is currently at No 2 spot and a sporting icon for many. Saina is one of the 24 athletes in the world who are standing for elections for the International Olympic Committee's Athletes' Commission in August later this year.

Arunimha Sinha, who is 21st in the list, is the first female and first Indian amputee to climb the Mount Everest. The former national level volleyball player achieved the feat in 2013. This was just two years after she was pushed from a running train by thieves. She also got awarded the Padma Shri and the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award in 2015.
