Maharashtra's drought is surely one of the worst crisis which we have seen as a country in years. This water crisis is not just making survival of crops difficult, the effect of this is rather tragic for farmer families who are not being able to sustain their livelihood. However, it is heartening to see several actors coming forward to help Maharashtra. While we already know about Nana Patekar and Aamir Khan's commendable efforts and initiatives to help the drought-stricken families, Superstar Akshay Kumar too has joined the bandwagon!

According to reports, Akshay has donated Rs 50 lakh for Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan. The main agenda behind the scheme is to make the villages of Maharashtra drought-proof by 2019. This state-sponsored initiative involves the construction of ponds in farms to harvest water.
