The Oscars seem to be a big deal for Indians, for some odd reason. We lost our sleep and minds over Leo DiCaprio's win. We actually had more people talking about the Academy Awards than the budget. The Oscars deserve to be Indianized. We need a stronger sense of relatability than just Priyanka Chopra's accent. So, taking a leaf out of #MakeInIndia, here's a list of people who deserve the Oscar more than Leo, or anyone else for that matter. Because, truth be told, they are the best performers out there. Lifetime Achievement Award for extraordinary work in the world of politics - Rahul Gandhi: It is only once in forever that an artist is awarded the lifetime achievement award at such a young age. But Rahul Gandhi's exemplary work over the years cannot be discounted. His astute understanding of Indian politics and command over the Hindi language makes him very hard to be ignored even by those who make sure they stay miles away from anything political. Here's to you and many more years of class-A politics Rahul.

Best Film - JNU Video

Spotlight might have got the award for the best film for its near perfect portrayal of the media. But the award for Best Film should actually go to the creators and the advocates of the fake JNU video. Seriously, the hatred spread across the nation really wouldn't have reached the heights it did had it not been for the news channels and bhakts labelling students as terrorists at the top of their lungs.

Best Actor - Narendra Modi

Hardly a surprise here. In fact, Modi was the only one nominated for this honour. From Make In India to travelling across the world on a schedule tighter than Rahul Gandhi's scripts, our PM has done a lot in the past year. The mark of a good actor isn't always in the way he delivers his dialogues but also in the way he knows when to keep his mouth shut. And Modi has done that perfectly during trying times, proving once again just how one can avoid the most difficult of times by just keeping one's trap shut. Modi, with years of experience with the BJP, gets the balance perfectly. This synergy makes him the star performer that he is today. Always ready for the camera and his mitron, Modi is the quintessential leading man of today's India.
