Hawaii Wants You To Move There So That It Can Give You A Job

Being unemployed is one of the worst experiences, right? Especially when you are living away from home. Most of us have been in this situation so we know how stressful it can get sometimes. Social media is the worst during these times because there'll always be that one lucky bugger on your news feed who's travelling to the most exotic of locations having the time of their lives. So demotivating! But there seems to be a way that solves both these problems. How about a job on a tropical island? That's exactly what Hawaii is offering. They are inviting unemployed people with college degrees from the rest of the world to come and teach. No teaching certificate or degrees required!

Why?

At the end of this school year, Hawaii will see around 1600 Hawaiian teachers retire. That's a huge gap to fill for the school system of the gorgeous little island. So Hawaii has opened up avenues for unemployed people who are educated but don't really have experience in the field itself.

Anyone can apply

Although all positions are available, they primarily need Math, English and special ed teachers. The pay isn't bad either. An average teacher there makes about $54,000 a year (Rs 36 lakhs) including other incentives to try and retain teachers. The country has been sending teams to major cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Portland to abandon their city lives to move to the islands.

It's a cool deal for someone who is completely out of options and doesn't mind teaching. Having said that, know that the cost of living in Hawaii is quite a lot. But it'll be a peaceful life nonetheless.

So when are you moving?
