This brave family of Erode did not let grief come in the way of doing a noble deed. Parents of a young girl, Puma, chose to donate her organs after they lost her in an accident. Puma, who had just given her Class XII exams, achieved life after death when her parents decided to donate her lungs, kidneys, heart, skin and eyes. The accident occured while the entire family was driving back from Bengaluru, after attending a family function, when the driver lost control of the vehicle. While Puma's parents and sister had a narrow escape, she could not be saved due to grievous injury in her head.

Using green corridors the traffic police was able to transport her liver to Coimbatore. Her skin and eyes were flown to Chennai while a city hospital received her kidneys.

In her death, Puma gave life to six people.
