Acid attack victims have always been judged but some of the victims have changed it and have lived their life on their own terms. There are many who have dreamt of being a doctor, a photographer and even a make-up artist; Bello Calendar with association with Quartz India made up a calendar with the acid attacks survivors. Each month holds an inspiration for surviving the attacks, what they wish to become and what how they survived. Launched on this Women’s day, this calendar portrays the survival force of these women.

1. January

Dreaming of becoming a doctor, Dolly was attacked when she was 12 year old by a 25 year old man who wanted to abuse her sexually. Her refusal resulted in her aggressor throwing acid on her face; since then Dolly has been suffering from breathing problems. Currently she is raising money for her education.

2. February

Gita’s husband attacked her by throwing acid on her and her two daughters while they were asleep, since then she lost her younger daughter and the other is now blind due to the attack. She is back with her husband as she does not have anywhere else to go. Gita’s dream is become a chef.
