Life as kids was fun. Or at least everyone likes to think so. We were cute and adorable but we were also manipulative, greedy and needy. What truly defined us was our energy and enthusiasm during festivals. It didn’t matter if it was Eid or Holi or Diwali; we loved every festival equally. Diwali however had a charm of its own. Here are some incredibly true reasons why Diwali was more fun when we were young.

5. The joy of getting a week-long vacation from school was unparalleled. Like a boss!

Diwali was a festival which lit up our world. We had the opportunity to keep away from school and studies for an entire week, which was equivalent to a long and rejuvenating vacation of chaos, mischief and finger licking food.

6. Staying up late and mocking our uncanny relatives with siblings and cousins.

Diwali was probably the only time of the year, we were allowed to stay up till late and chit-chat the entire night long with our siblings and cousins. And then there were the gossips about relatives and our childhood crushes.
