This Man Reveals How A Bengaluru Hotel Tried To Adjust Its Black Money With A Backdated Bill

Post demonetisation, many are trying to find clever solutions to convert their black money into white money to save themselves from the big penalty. Here's one such hotel who apparently tried to play the system by issuing backdated invoices but instead, it was caught red-handed by one of its customers.

A Bengaluru resident named Midhun Noble called out a popular hotel, Adigas, on social media after he was allegedly issued a backdated bill. The hotel staff even insisted he pay in cash as they were not accepting cards. According to him, the hotel was desperately trying to adjust black money in a clever way.

Noble expressed his concern for the same in an enlightening Facebook post

Yesterday I went to #Adigas hotel in church street to order food for my office. To my surprise they refused to accept cards and insisted on paying by cash. After receiving the bill and checking the date on the bill it is given as 01/09/2016. What an intelligent way to adjust your books and convert black money to white by pushing up the sales in previous months and remitting the amount as sales done in previous months. Most of us don't even read our bills, so next time please ensure you spend a 20 seconds on the bill details and insist on bills after every purchase. It's a shame such iconic names like Adigas is doing this. Let's contribute to our PM's efforts.
