As MH370 Search Ends, We Wonder If The Families Of The Missing Will Ever Get Closure

Zameen Nigal Gayi Ke Asmaan Kha Gaya. These lines describe the tragic story of the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 perfectly well. All hopes seem to have ended now as MH370 searchers have almost given up on finding the missing plane. The plane had mysteriously vanished en-route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board on March 8, 2014. An extensive search was launched to trace the wreckage of the flight, but nothing has been found till date. Recently, Malaysia, Australia and China announced that the search zone would double in size. But more-than-a-year on from disappearance, Australian officials have said the hunt will not be expanded beyond the current search area unless there are specific new leads, the Australian officials said on Wednesday, May 3. "In the absence of credible new information that leads to the identification of a specific location of the aircraft, governments have agreed that there will be no further expansion of the search area," the Australian-led Joint Agency Coordination Centre (JACC) said in an update. More than 50,000 square kilometers of the seafloor have been scoured so far with no trace of the jet, JACC said, and with the onset of winter and poor weather, the operation is slowing down. With last hopes diminishing, let us all pray for the families who have lost their dear ones in this unfortunate incident. We all hope that any message of hope will at least tell us what exactly happened to this flight. Source: The Independent
