Guess who is eligible to vote during the upcoming civil elections from Bengaluru? Apparently, a voter identity card bearing the name and other details of Bangladesh’s PM Sheikh Hasina is doing the rounds on the internet. The card clearly has her name, her husband’s name and other personal details. Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson S Prakash has posted a picture of Sheikh Hasina’s ‘Voter Identity Card’ on his Facebook page. Karnataka Home Minister KJ George believes this is not an authentic card and he has already ordered a probe into this matter. Image source

The controversy doesn’t stop at this. This is one of the many fake ID cards issued by the Election Commission. Virginia Lo Yao, a fugitive, is another person who has such a card and carry a reward of $50,000.

If this happens to be true, then this is a major lapse on the part of the concerned authorities.

The matter has come to light just a few days before the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) polls, scheduled on July 28.
